Carnival of Christian Women–March 3, 2008

Carnival of Christian WomenFeatured

Amy Proof That Prayer Does Move Mountains posted at ….In Pursuit of Proverbs 31.

This is a tear jerker, but an oh-so-powerful reminder of God’s love for you whatever you are facing right now.

Pamela presents Standing in the Presents of God posted at The Welcome Home Blog.

Everywhere I look I see God’s blessings in my life. I am truly standing in the presents and presence of God.

Claudia presents A No Good, Horrible, Rotten Love Day, but Today?s Another Day posted at Marriage: Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

It always seems like when I read the “love chapter” that marriage gets harder. I’m convinced this is a direct attack from Satan on my marriage. Never forget that we are in a spiritual battle and the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy. When you have one of those less than perfect days in your marriage, get up, dust yourself off, and try again.

Laura presents Cooking in Crisis posted at BeutlerBlogger.

Cooking is one way to minister to others in times of need. Reaching out to nourish the body is also a ministry to the soul.

Devotional

the baglady presents The Donation Paradox? posted at xynny.

Survey’s have shown that lower incomes houses give a greater percentage of their income to charity. I have always been tight with money, but when I started giving it away (through World Vision), I found that I wanted to give more away (by sponsoring more children and being intentional with tithing to my church). It’s true, we take the money right off the top of the paycheck and I never even miss it. I’ve applied this same principle to saving too

Renae presents Strength in Weakness posted at Life Nurturing Education.

Admitting our own weakness and accepting God’s grace and power is a testimony to the glory of God.

Home

GP presents You Never get a Second Chance posted at Innside Montana-Your Home at the Range, saying, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression”

This is a great article to apply to customer service in running a business or to creating a home that says “welcome” to all your guests.

e-Mom presents Practical Life: The Art of Being Organized posted at C h r y s a l i s.

Whether you call it a household organizer, a control journal, or a home management binder, this tool can be crucial in reducing stress and organizing the family schedule.

Life

Ashley Weis presents People Hate Me posted at A Weis Writer, saying, “Learning to love those who hate us.”

Starr LaPradd presents Decision Making 101 posted at Thresholds, saying, “God will NEVER leave us wondering which path to follow. Acknowledge Him first, He will illuminate the way and you can rest peacefully when you have made a God-honoring decision.”

Marriage

Leticia Velasquez presents Some good news about the family: and a reality check posted at causa nostrae laetitiae.

Overcoming hardship

Journeying Forward presents Let the Children Come to Me… Why I Ran the Other Way posted at Journeying Forward, saying, “One journeyers honest, but hopeful look at Jesus from the eyes of a sexually abused child.” I

If you have experienced abuse, my heart breaks with you and my prayers go up for you. I pray that the Truth will set you free as it has given freedom to the author of this article.

Kathryn Lang presents How to Handle the Unexpected Change posted at The Peculiar Club, saying, “Change is coming. Instead of trying to ignore or avoid it, you have to learn how to press on through.”

I love the quote that says, “Life may not be the party you hoped for, but you might as well dance while you are here”

Angela Williams Duea presents You Gave Me This Child posted at angelawd, saying, “Parenting is sometimes discouraging, but God lightens our spirits in unexpected ways.”

February 15 (or so) Carnival or Christian Women

Posted by Sunny Daydreame on Feb 19 2008 | Carnival of Christian Women

Carnival of Christian WomenFirst, allow me to apologize for my absence. It started with the release of Windows Vista SP1, which resulted in my computer locking me out of my DVD drive, and back up hard drive. The day continued with wiping my hard drive clean and installing Windows XP. There was much rejoicing all around.

Here we are, running a few days behind with this carnival, but the articles are good none-the-less.

Devotionals

To get us started, e-Mom has written a great article on the gifts of the Holy Spirit in Christianity: What is Charismatic Renewal?

Erika Wilson talks about perseverance and faith in Pressing to Break Through

January Cat has a simple statement of faith in What I Believe: God, Three in One.

Home

Tea Party Girl needs help. In her article, Would You Help Me Answer a Question?, she asks, “What is the number one problem you face taking care of your home?”

Brandie
has offered some advice on organizing your life in three stages. Changing My Life Started In The Home Office.

DotLobby writes about utilizing family and friends to move towards your goals. Goal Theory - How Friends and Family Can Help.

Dana suggests that The measure of a Christian education involves parents being involved in their children’s learning. Education is not just limited to academics.

God Moments

Lisa presents Goodwill Does It Again! God’s provision always comes with perfect timing. A trip to goodwill showed Lisa that God really does care for every detail of her life.

Ariah Fine has written an Open Letter to Anyone Returning from a Missions Trip.

Life

Louise Manning presents part of the challenge of Being a teenager’s mother

“Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.”

Carnival of Christian Women–February 1, 2008

Posted by Sunny Daydreame on Feb 01 2008 | Carnival of Christian Women

Carnival of Christian Women

Welcome to the February 1, 2008 edition of the Carnival of Christian Women!

This carnival is growing by leaps and bounds. Today’s collection of articles is the best collection I have gotten in the history of the Carnival of Christian Women.

    Devotionals

  • Erika Wilson presents Thwarting Deception encouraging us to be grounded in the word of God and seek Him consistently rather that being led astray by our feelings.
  • Julie Stiles Mills presents learning in flux. Do you think God has a “will” for each individual person, or do we have some choice in the matter? Should we continually lay a fleece before God to figure out His plan?.
  • Do you know How to be thankful in everything? Nadege has a few suggestion.
  • Are you rooted in Christ? Starr LaPradd has submitted a multi-part Threshold Bible Study on this subject. The link takes you to all the posts, but the study is in reverse order (first part is at the bottom of the page)
  • e-Mom has offered some advice on Spiritual Growth: Reading God’s Word Daily for those of us who are Slackers and Shirkers (or are just too busy)”
  • God Moments

  • Do you see the hand of God in everything? He is there, but you have to learn to be aware of His presence. Read Celebration of Life to see how Amy learned to love and live life to the fullest.
  • Home

  • Extreme parenting often requires taking drastic measures. Jennifer in OR used Disturbing images to stop the whining and teach her son about his rich life.
  • How do you bless your house and invite Jesus to reign as master of your home? Theresa L. Twogood offers a few suggestions on House Blessing Time for this season of Lent.
  • On a similar note, Debra Moorhead offers a few suggestions on De-Cluttering Your Life: Where to Start.
  • Life

  • Living for a perfect tomorrow is so much easier than living your dreams in an imperfect today. Sunny suggests that you Don’t wait to live by your values because the perfect tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.
  • The road to success is paved with hard work, but don’t lose your passion along the way. GP writes about The Sweet Smell of Success with a recipe for cinnamon raisin bread if you need something to smell in the mean time.
  • Brew a cup of tea and sit down to ready Tea Party Girl’s article, It’s Not All Up to You. Whenever I get to thinking that I can make the world go round, I am faced with my failures. It’s a good day to remember that the sun doesn’t rise and set at my will.
  • Tammy offers us a beautiful reminder that today is an incredible blessing. Her article, Content To Linger, reminds us to cherish each day rather than rushing through to the next big thing.
  • Ministry

  • The ministry of a woman changes with the seasons of life. In Leading Voices: A Woman’s Seasons Shannon says that the important thing to remember is that everything we do is an act of worship done for the glory of God.
  • The church cannot compete with Hollywood’s budget to entertain, but we can give non-Christians something that Hollywood can’t offer. We have the the power of “belong”. Let jan encourage you to let no one stand alone–regardless of beliefs. Remember, love conquers all.
  • Controversies

  • One of the greatest on going battles that Christians face is the fight to stop abortion. Leticia Velasquez has posted a video of Gabbi’s March for Life 2008 Montage
  • JHSEsq presents What Were They Thinking? posted at Colloquium. This article is about a Golfweek/Golf channel controversy over racism. The important thing to take away from this article is how far we have come and how far we still have to go.
  • Overcoming hardship

  • We think we are in control, but we are not. When we find ourselves “losing” control, it’s a frightening experience. Lynnae tells us about her experience in relinquishing control in Sometimes I just want to cry.
  • Finally, Angela Williams Duea is learning about Keeping it real as a parent to a depressed teen. Hardship always teaches us to to lean on God in ways we never have before.”

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of Carnival of Christian Women that will be published on February 15.
