By next summer, I expect to be living in a travel trailer while we build a house. I got rid of my coffee maker when I realized how much space it took up on my counter top. We already don't have a TV. My big necessity is the laptop and external monitor. We have decided to make the sacrifices now so we (hopefully) won't have to do it again when we have kids. I can't imagine doing it with 4 kids. That's when we got rid of our TV, I learned how to make French press coffee, how to live with 4 children and a husband in 27 feet and still love each other at the end of the day. We had no power, water, or other amenities - totally off the grid. Let me tell you about conserving when you have to haul in your own water and keep an eye on the quickly diminishing propane!
