Do you ever catch yourself holding your breath as you go through the day?

It all starts out innocently, you are working and in a rush. Your to-do list is 100 pages long, and you are stressed out. As you hurry though your day, you are suddenly overwhelmed by the need to stop and breathe.

Breathing is about making space for you to live.
It’s about taking time to take care of yourself.
Breathing is about nurturing and detoxing.

What one thing could you do today to reduce stress?

Just for today, stop holding your breath.  Stop living life like it is an emergency, and do one thing to nurture yourself

I know what you mean. Sometimes I’ll be so busy from work I’ll just continue to be that busy at home and next thing I know it’s time to hit the sack when it feels like I just got up. The days go by so fast that all of a sudden it’s six months later and your 6 month old is 1 year old, been walking for months already and is starting to speak words and phrases to you. If you actually take a moment to think about it you get hit hard by the reality of what happened. Too much work not enough chill heheh.

A lot of stress could come from trying to do too much, especially if you have a stressful job already. If you spend 8 hours a day working and come home to 20 different personal projects you’re gonna be quite stressed out. Gotta give yourself time to relax and catch up with the days events. I know from personal experience that it might feel real nice at first and even for a little while to have your own projects taking up your free time, but eventually something will slow down your progress. If that happens with several things, for example, your traffic drops on your blog reducing your website income at the same time something unexpected occurs that requires you to spend a large amount of money and your family thinks you spend too much time on pointless projects, you can start feeling really depressed and stressed really quickly.

I’m taking your advice by the way, tomorrow is my lazy day. :P Great post.

Wow! I have to say your response made me tired. Sounds like a rough day! We all need a zero-day sometimes. I took one on Friday actually. I timestamped blog posts and read fiction books all day. WONDERFUL.

DH told me this morning that I need to make sure to get outside every day too. I am blessed to have a very supportive spouse and family.
