Seasons and Stars

I watch the seasons change by the stars. Last night we drove up to the Kootenai Wildlife Refuge, north of town. The weather is still pretty chilly at night so the mosquitoes aren’t out yet (on a side note, never drive up there in the evening during the summer the mosquitoes will carry you off).

Even if I didn’t have a calendar, I would know spring is coming. Almost as soon as it was dark, Orion was putting himself to sleep behind the mountains in the west. The big dipper is facing up, so the cup can be filled with all the delights of long warm sunshiny days.

The daffodils and tulips are blooming. The weather is warm enough to leave the heater off in the day. My lettuce plants are growing in their happy little window box. I move them outside every morning and bring them in at night. The ground is still frosty in the morning, but it melts by time the work day starts.

I spent the weekend reading books. I think I will post some book reviews later this week.

Oh and on the getting out of debt front. We paid $2,400 on the car payment this month. VERY COOL
